The Human Clock

Haha, I love that part "... you must be joking, I mean, you're talking to the human clock here." But seriously, does anyone really believe that this dude was dating the hot daughter?? Come on, he was a submarine repairman!!! Hehe, Enjoy!

  1. I remember hearing Oscar buzz in '83 around this performance. I think Eric Boardman took home the win though for the "Hats" video.

  2. Submarine Repairman?

He's not a beach boy. He's studying marine biology there on the floating city.

  3. I can't get enough of his goofy pseudo-Luke Skywalker hair.

"Whoa.. tell the truth, when was the last time I was late for anything?" How about saving our Mecca, eh comrade?

  4. Wait, a marine biologist that repairs personal submarines? Haha, nice! :) Or wait, is he fixing his own personal submersible??

  5. Yeah Kyle, and what about that pouty look on his face when he is saying "... tell the truth ...", hehe.

  6. Any videos of the other side of that conversation? I want to see how they did the "seam".

  7. He's like "Hold on. I'll be right over, right after I kill Disney Imagineering."

  8. Wow - thanks for posting this! It's really cool to see where the loop starts and stops (and what poor editing...)

I doub't that sub boy is even interested in dating that girl...

  9. Were you able to record the Girls monitor too?

  10. @Infernal Mr Adams: yes and no, you will see what i mean when i post our shot of it. we were not able to get to a position where we had her projection and audio together :( so they were recorded separately. and the angle was kinda wierd too, you will see.

not to worry tho, we actually have the film reels of the boy and girl shots! they were in the trash cans in the projector rooms, if you can believe that. i assume when maintenance would replace the films, they just threw the old in the trash, and we were fortunate enough to find it before anyone emptied the trash.

now its just a matter of getting those films onto the computer, and we have had someone volunteer to help us out there, because hoot and i certainly dont have the equipment to do that, but its just going to take a little time to work out the details and such...

  11. I somehow doubt that he would be at all interested in ANYONE'S daughter...

  12. Wow! You found the film reels in the trash - that's incredible! A perfect example of "one man's trash is another man's treasure" (sorry for the gender specific-ness but that's the saying). Very glad you guys found those and I can't wait to see the footage. Hell I'd even like to see a photo of just the reels themselves.

  13. So, anyone know how often the film had to be replaced in these attractions? Disney had SO MANY projector based scenes throughout the parks, I can imagine one person being assigned just to "film repair".

  15. Film Repair Tech was what Eric Boardman ended up doing after his failed Oscar bid.

  16. Chief, That is exciting! I hope you are able to get those transferred! :D

  17. I have a slice of the real of the scene in Gangster Alley of the Great Movie Ride of the fight scene above Patrick J. Ryan's bar while I was working there. One night during a 101 we went up there to kill time and found a slew of it everywhere.

  18. Nice. It's interesting to see that the loop is not quite seamless. Although the Human Clock dips out of the picture, that lever he has been moving jumps to a different position. It's obviously something you wouldn't notice on the ride.

  19. I was always intruiged by the circular, redundant dialog between these two characters... They are talking about nothing, but so much at the same time...

  20. Sub Boy is Tom Fitzgerald, one of the many career-zombies who are still eating the heart of WDI from within. Yeah, he'd date your daughter, if there was something in it for him, professionally. More likely, he'd take credit for someone else dating your daughter.
