Space Ship Earth loses a friend

The second narrator of Space Ship Earth is gone to rest. May god be with you, Walter Cronkite and may he forgive you for being a part of the animation tour movies at Disney/MGM.
WHY couldn't it have been Robin Williams???????? Why Lord?????
We'll miss you.

  1. Even as a snot nosed punk kid I knew that if Cronkite said it then it was OK, So when I heard his unmistakable voice in Spaceship Earth it really solidified that the ideals in the park where real. That this place was not kidding around, he brought a sense of official-ness to Epcot, He put his stamp of approval on the place.

  4. Gil, I'll gladly admit I'd rather have Walter Cronkite STAY ALIVE in trade for Robin Williams. My opinion, my blog.

  5. ouch thats harsh Hoot... but Robin williams hasnt done anything notable since Aladdin. And what was wrong with Mork & Mindy? I thought it was cool until the last season when they had a kid... I thought Pam Dauber was hot!

1:59 Uncle Walter, lookin' smooth as hell, giving us the business.

4:05 "NEW HORIZONS". This little gem has the most ominous line from Michael Landon- "..and a space colony.. I sure hope I'm still around." Yikes.

  9. Yeah Kyle, VAULTDISNEYreturns has some good videos on there. I really wish I could find some videos of EPCOT Magazine though, remember that awesome show on the Disney Channel? With Michael Young? That was 84-86 timeframe, that was my 10th, 11th, and 12th grade in highschool, and I was in love with EPCOT Center. :)

  10. Holy crap, Chief. I didn't know you guys were so elderly. I thought you were around 18 when you took these pictures in '99.

Senior year in '86? You're 42?! I seriously thought you guys were a lot younger.
