20,000 Leagues Under the Gun -part one

Issue #2 of Hoot and Chief True Life Action Comics!

Our story begins on another Wednesday night. Hoot and Chief were making their way past the moron selling inflatable balls.....

They finally came upon the object of their desire. Both of the foul mouthed bastards stood silent.

After a brief prayer to the Gods of future living......they rode. The bottom of the sea was their goal.

Sea Castle comes into view. Hoot and Chief had a healthy gap, just enough to jump down through the hole and get some pictures of the sea floor.

Across the set and down the hole.

Try not to land on the Solo Sub!

In the rush of excitement our heroes overlooked one small detail. The hole was to high to provide a way back out.

This was before the days of staying in the ride which meant that in just a few seconds they'd be in full view of the Guests!!!!!!!!

Holy dancing shit biscuits! Will our heroes survive another adventure? Will the blinking octopus rip them to pieces with it's rubber tentacles? Will some bored little kid point them out to his father? Did he really see Hoot's shoe?

Find out in the exciting conclusion of 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE GUN!

Desert Father AKA Captain Nemo

This just in from the MVT mail sack!

Regarding the Desert Farm Father who we refer to in previous posts as "Captain Nemo".

"As a fan of Horizons since my first trip to EPCOT in the fall of 1983 or 84, I have been wondering a lot about the things you have been documenting. Keep the information coming! Before MVT came into existence, I was forced to ask these questions to anyone I could find with a connection or knowledge to Disney and the parks. One friend who grew up in the Orlando area and has made and keeps many great "Disney" connections with many Imagineers and cast members, has helped me answer questions over the years... that is how I came upon his name.
His name is Pete Renoudet. He was the voice of many AA characters at the Disney parks, including the voice of Captain Nemo on the WDW version of 20,000 leagues (Go figure!!!). Most Notably, he was also the voice of Henry in the Country Bears and Abraham Lincoln (Succeeding Royal Dano).
In a 2007 interview, Pete describes that his presence in Horizons was a last minute change. The voice we hear is not his, as he was only used as the model for the AA and was filmed for the video on the videophone. (This could be another reason why the mask doesn't seem to fit the AA head... IT WASN'T THE ORIGINAL "MASK"!!!)
This and a lot more about him was posted in the interview. Here is the link for your confirmation purposes.
Read, Enjoy, and congratulate yourself on the Captain Nemo connection! That was amazing.
One of the die-hards!
Michael Garay (aka Menutia)"

Awesome contribution! Chief and I would like to grant you a position here at The MVT headquarters. From this day forth, Menutia, you will be known as "Minister of Missing Persons and Submarine Rides @ Mesa Verde Times". Congratulations, sir.

Back to Nova Cite

The Grandparents only really like three people in their extended family. The red head grand daughter, their Captain Nemo son in law, and a baby. Is that Davey who lives in space? Who's kid was that a picture of? Some Imagineer or maybe a bean counter at Disney? Is that child REALLY 27-28 years old now? Why is Hoot Gibson so damned handsome?

No offense to the sculptors at Disney but you have to admit those Animatronic figures look nothing like the actors themselves. Not even the baby, who was a direct copy of the baby in "The Home of Future Living" at the Magic Kingdom. I hate to even question their skills but I'm curious. Would they have to pay the actors more for an exact likeness? Hmmmm...

James Mason

Captian Nemo makes a cake with his comfy purple jumpsuit on.

His eyes were out of wack:( Almost always. It was creepy cuz he looked drunk.

It's a little blurry but it's a good start. Young Hoot Gibson is checking out the contents of the family fridge with the most annoying animatronic kid ever created.

Remember when I said that we, the riders, were seeing a glimpse of the future that was largely unexplained to us? This kitchen is a great example. How many average riders knew that the fridge was voice activated? I had no idea until this adventure began.

So much detail. What about the other appliances?
