Ok

One year has passed. It's incredible.

We have had Google ads on this blog all along in hopes that someday we'd be able to buy the Horizons ride vehicle at Mouse Surplus. So here's the update:

So far we've made $41.20. That means we only have to make $9957.80 to buy our vehicle! Thank God Mouse Surplus dropped the price from $14,000 to $9,999,00.

It'll be ours soon!

  2. Haha, I remember when I had a website with Google ads. Got all the way up to $47(You need at least $50 to cash out, I believe) over 3 years. Never got a dime of it. These internets are tough to make money at!

  3. We get to cash out at $100. So, in 2012 we'll be getting a check. HOPEFULLY the ride vehicle will come down to that price by then:)

  4. If I were some sharp exec at Pixar I would buy it right now. Then I would invite Hoot and Chief over to sit in it! I'd give us free candy and beer too. Just a thought.

  5. That car is the equivalent to one of the lifeboats from the Titanic!! A real survivor.

  6. You guys are half way to a 1-day, 1 park ticket. So, ya know, you got that.

  7. You guys gonna use that thing as your couch in the living room? Looks uncomfortable, but oh so cool.

  8. Anyone who lived in Florida back in the wonder of the 80's- were there ever billboards/advertising around Orlando or anywhere else promoting the EPCOT rides?

  9. Great idea guys. I love your blog and I can't believe it's been a year. I recently started my own blog myparkmyrides.blogspot.com. I hope to one day be as successful as you guys.Right now I am nowhere lol.

  10. Jtsalien, the success is a funny thing to measure. Chief and I feel successful because we're able to spark memories of Horizons and relive it ourselves. We've met some kick ass people and together, all of us, we're coming up with NEW things to discover about this amazing attraction.

    You ARE somewhere, Jtsalien.

  12. Thanks alot for the kind words of support Hoot. If you don't mind I'd like to post a short article about your site on my blog. Maybe if anyone ever reads my blog I can send them here to discover Horizons.

  13. Kyle, the first ride-specific billboard I definitely remember seeing was for Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Although I might have vague recollections of Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Body Wars, and Star Tours billboards. But that might be my imagination.

  16. Anyone on Mousebits needs to check out "GM Presents: Make Your Own Magic". Very good Horizons footage, but also a short speech from the CEO of GM in front of World of Motion and an epic Future World montage. Plus, it's the only time I've seen video of Videopolis East. Awesome.

  17. Been kinda quiet on the Horizons front lately so I thought I try and shake things up a bit. Today is my redhead's birthday and in honor of that, I've gone back to a profile pic of the two of us. Of course the most prominent feature of the picture is my big-ass shiny forehead.

Maybe as a birthday present for her, some new photos or video could be posted? Ok, so maybe it's mostly for me but it's all I could come up with.

  18. Here's a thought: become YouTube partners (it isn't difficult), and take out adshare on your Horizons videos?

My friends and I have had a few vids crack the 100,000 view mark (which is pretty do-able for anyone, given time), and I'd say that the whole channel so far has made us like $300.

So yes, the money is SOOO slow in coming, and definitely still not enough to buy the ride vehicle, but every little bit helps!
