Our daughter the farmer. Follow me on the detail in this scene. I know I beat the subject to death but humor me here.
She's married to the Captain Nemo looking guy so she has her wedding ring on. She has red hair which her daughter also has.
WHO.....WHO would have ever noticed this stuff????!!!!!!!!! Did the average guest see it? No way. When Chief and I were teens we never noticed it and I doubt anyone from Brazil did either.
BUT how amazing is it that it was there? Very.
I miss this attraction so much:(
There's no doubt about it, Imagineers love what they do. I doubt very much that management would have insisted on details like this; the Imagineers did it because they wanted to.
ReplyDeleteThat was totally what tied it together. My parents (mostly my mom) did so much reading about this stuff and always pointed out stuff like that. It got us interested as kids and so much so that I've been chasing the Imagineering dream myself. At least I'm making animatronics for now, right Hoot?
ReplyDeleteI'm constantly amazed by the attention to detail on the older attractions. It's really incredible how much effort went into these.
ReplyDeleteSemi-related, I'm listening to nearly 90 track collection of Horizons music/audio right now and just can't believe how much work was put into that aspect of it alone. It really could be a standalone symphony with all the little nuances and reoccurances of the "If You Can Dream It / New Horizons" and "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" theme.
You can tell a lot of love went into it. Such a shame it was replaced with an expensive version of Gravitron!!!
You guys are friggi'n awesome I signed on just to be able to let you know that. your site has brought back the fuzzy feelings one forgets they had when they where a kid. Your giving us a new prespective on a loved attraction allowing us to rediscover horizons for the first time all over again. Now that the mushy stuff is out of the way I wanted to add I had a crush on her even though captain nemo was her man, sighhh
ReplyDeleteGear28th, We're glad you like it:) Like I say, this blog is for YOU the handful of Horizons fans who need a little trip back in time.
ReplyDeleteOk guys, what roomwas she in? I see the flavor grapes next to her...What was she looking at?
ReplyDeleteShe is in the Desert Farm scene (part of Mesa Verde), and she is looking at some 'computer' screens.
ReplyDeletewow real nice rainie again,,,,,WTF FLORIDA HERE I COME................................
ReplyDeleteDo you guys have any close up pics of those control panel's on the monitors? I always wondered if they had actual words on the buttons.
ReplyDeleteI've gotta ask if you detail junkies have ever been to Tokyo Disneysea. That park which originally cost 3.3 F-ing BILLION to create has this amount of detail everywhere...it's INSANE. I go there as much as I can just to walk around taking in the detail..I don't even need to ride anything.
ReplyDeleteThese images are all AWESOME! Truly the most comprehensive coverage of any ride EVAR! Something about all of the AA's remind me of Gerry Anderson's puppets... Space 1999? No... Thunderbirds are Go!
